Presentation of over 1,300 mushroom species.
The oldest derive from Elias Fries' findings in the 1850s. The book also describes fungi that are red-listed and rare, new to science and ones that have not previously been known to Sweden or Scania.
"Kullaberg's nature is well known and well documented. However, there is a lack of documentation that describes the occurrence and frequency of fungi. Mushrooms have a decisive importance for biological diversity and can be used as indicators to track and identify changes in nature and environmental impact. …”
This is how the author Kerstin Bergelin begins the preface to her book "Mushrooms on Kullaberg - mirroring a culturally influenced natural heritage." The book particularly highlights the valuable nature types and links to the changes in vegetation and the historical cultural influences on Kullaberg. Kerstin Bergelin is a biologist with a special interest in mycology. She is co-author of the book "Mushrooms in Söderåsen's National Park" for the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and the field guide "Mushrooms of Meadows" for Sweden's Mycological Association, where she was previously chairman. Over the years, she has carried out various inventory missions in deciduous forest environments and on open land within the framework of action programs for fungi and for various authorities.
