Explorer is compact and comfortable in format, has a wide field of view even compared to significantly more expensive binoculars and delivers a good image, which is now also completely free of so-called chromatic aberration, i.e. color bleeding.
This has been done by equipping the binoculars with ED glass (Extra low Dispersion). 8x32 is the latest and much anticipated addition to the explorer family. A real little treat that delivers a sharp and fine image. The binoculars are extremely flexible and weigh only 440 grams! The eyecups are adjustable in three positions and offer a full field of vision even with glasses. The focusing is smoothly responsive and has a "just right" ratio in just under 2 revolutions from infinity to near limit. The lightweight magnesium chassis is nitrogen filled for full tightness and the rubber reinforcement has a grippy texture. The very low weight and format means that the binoculars feel very well balanced in the hand. The diopter adjustment is done in a rather sluggish ring on the right eyepiece. The proximity is - which we are becoming increasingly spoiled and accustomed to - extremely good. A pair of binoculars that are perfect for those who want to keep the weight down but don't want to compromise on optical quality.
