The Manfrotto Nitrotech 608 is a heavy-duty video head with great features.
Here you can load your head with 8 kilos and the solid construction with the smart piston mechanism in the center always guarantees full counterweight, regardless of whether you have the market's heaviest tube mounted. The basic construction is relatively compact, built around a round base where a ring for adjusting the lateral inertia is set. Then there are locking knobs for the side and on the left side of the head, a locking ring and an adjustment knob for setting the inertia of the tilt. On the right side of the head there is a locking mechanism for the long, balanceable quick release plate with graduation on the long side. You can choose a right- or left-handed lever and this is the same as for the second largest video head MVH502AH in the range, i.e. a long and strong lever. At the front on the left is the last and perhaps most vital knob, or the lever CBS (=Counter Balance System). In the retracted position, it does nothing, but if it is pulled out, the nitrogen-controlled (hence the name Nitrotech) piston under the bridge itself can be adjusted from maximum counterweight to no counterweight at all. In the latter case the piston is fully retracted into its housing, in the former case it is completely exposed. If you are a lazy "tube trawler" at one of the better-known stretch locations along our coasts, this is the head for you. Without problems, for example, Swarovski's värsting BTX 35x95 is balanced up by this head and offers incomparably soft and fully adjustable resistance for your specific needs. Supplied complete with quick release plate and screws with 1/4'' and 3/8'' thread, plastic guide pins and an illuminated spirit level that can be fitted if required. A button cell battery for the LED is included.
